R.E.P. Breakfast in Amsterdam Discusses Current Economic Situation and Support PMI Provides In Difficult Times

An informative R.E.P. recognition breakfast was held at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam on 18 May 2009. Keith Rosenbaum, R.E.P. Administrator, opened the meeting by highlighting the growth of the R.E.P. program from a program that started with 50 training providers in 1999 to what has now grown to nearly 1200 R.E.P.s. He also congratulated the participants on the tenth anniversary of the R.E.P. program. Attendees were then engaged by PMI President and CEO Gregory Balestrero who discussed the current global economic situation and later sought feedback from the R.E.P. stakeholders in attendance on its impact on their businesses. Cindy Anderson, Manager of PMI Marketing, followed with an overview of the new marketing portal being made available to the R.E.P. community. Marketing materials available to R.E.P.s through the portal are designed to help R.E.P.s communicate about project management, the benefits of using PMI R.E.P.s as project management training providers, gap between supply and demand in project management, and PMI credentials and standards among other topics. Furthermore, Betsy Redden from PMI Certification and John Zlockie from PMI Standards reviewed the upcoming PMI credential exam changes and updates. The breakfast concluded with the current R.E.P. Advisory Group members introducing themselves and discussing program plans and proposed initiatives for 2010.
